太平洋戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)爆發(fā)，中國(guó)與美、英等國(guó)結(jié)成軍事同盟，于民國(guó)31年3月與33年4月兩次組成中國(guó)遠(yuǎn)征軍，聯(lián)合盟軍在緬甸與日軍作戰(zhàn)，支持盟軍防守緬甸，也維持中國(guó)西南的物資補(bǔ)給線，同時(shí)也拖住日軍部隊(duì)，間接于側(cè)翼協(xié)助美軍在太平洋戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)上的進(jìn)攻行動(dòng)。本書(shū)選自國(guó)史館庋藏之《蔣中正總統(tǒng)文物》與《陳誠(chéng)副總統(tǒng)文物》之中與中國(guó)遠(yuǎn)征軍相關(guān)之史料，精選重要文獻(xiàn)，編輯成六個(gè)部分，完整呈現(xiàn)中國(guó)遠(yuǎn)征軍的組成、征戰(zhàn)、轉(zhuǎn)進(jìn)、反攻勝利等過(guò)程。
